Re: What? Iron Man is *REAL*?
"It won't be"
I have done extensive research on this topic and even delivered a presentation on the army's "Future Soldier 2025". It most certainly is NOT going to be a "robot suit", but could easily be construed as such.
It DOES have an "exoskeleton" of sorts, but it is NOT a suit of armor. The XO system is designed to increase the strength and duration of the soldier, NOT to make them impervious to attacks.
Certainly the suit DOES have sophisticated armor. It uses ballistic resistant ceramics and nano-carbon tubes pieced together and coated with a special new "glue glass" material which is reamins flexible until it is struck with a sudden impact (such as a bullet). When that happens, the glass particles get shoved together with such force that they basically solidify into a strong armor like substance. The material returns to its original flexible state almost immediately after the impact.
There are TONS more things the suit can do, but it certainly is NOT an "Iron Man" suit.
For more information, try a Google search for "Future Soldier 2025".
