No way. Dualing RULES. Sure, you have to do more planning ahead to do it well, but that's what Baldur's Gate gate is all about: Planning ahead. Alternatively, there's the I'm-too-sleepy-to-think-straight method of selling yourself short on Dual-classing: Dual Imoen at Level 2, making her a normal Mage who can use a Bow and Potions of Perception.
