These are character pics. I have been doing them with backgrounds, but I think they could just as easily be done without them. I just find these more interesting.
I think it's really h ard to do generic encounter pics, b/c you can't really include a background, as you never know how the designer is planning on using the image. With these, I figure it's like showing a picture of your wife, you have a representative image that makes her look good, but it isn't necessarily taken within the last couple of days.
