In my version... Insect Plague and any of the other insect-swarm powers guarantee a 100% spell failure rate. While Faldorn is being swarmed and bitten SHE CANNOT TRANSFORM INTO THE PANTHER. I simply did this:
1) cast Dispel Magic to get rid of her Ironskins.
2) cast Insect Plague to mess her up.
3) cast Harm and hit her to make her lose all her HP.
4) turn into an animal and clobber her until dead.
Takes a couple of tries, but it should only last for a bout 45 seconds game time.
