Reposting my UI shots from our Al'ar fight and kill tonight. The first is raid UI when not engaged. The second is raid UI on trash. The third is raid UI from Al'ar with me in my cool Ashtongue disguise for the quest (part of Hyjal attunement).
Note: my main barmod is the basic WoW UI. I try to limit my mods so patch day sucks less, so I don't have a fancy barmod like bongos. My raid frame mod is CTRaid, which works fine for me, though I understand sRaidFrames the the fancy new cool one. I still like CT, and I'm never the Lock asking "Who's got a SS up" because I always know. If you're curious how I got my Blizz UI to shrink, that's part of TitanPanel, the mod that creates the bar at the bottom of the screen, it has the shrinking functionality, too.
I do rely on Necrosis to add some buttons, because Locks have so frikkin many spells. I use Omen as my threatmeter, way better the KTM. Casting bar mod is quartz, I highly recommend it. The dot timer is DoTimer, also highly recommended. I also have a DoT timer at the bottom of the screen from quartz, and one on the right of the screen that's part of Necrosis. What can I say, other than that wherever I'm looking on the screen I want a DoT timer nearby.
Oh, and I do play on an awesome 24" monitor, and it makes the world so much nicer. Lots of real estate on the screen, even with the mods.
Oh, the mod to show scrolling info regarding damage done and taken and heals received is Scrolling Combat Text and SCT Damage (2 mods, actually), also ones I highly recommend.
