AFAIK most of the portraits that come with the game are used for NPCs who may join later. There are only a few that were made specifically for the player. For guys, ther's this bald-headed one with the beard, and the younger-looking sort in armour.

What happens if I use an NPC's portrait. I fancy the one with drawing a bow - Kivan's I believe? If he joins my party, what portrait will he use?
