well, dont think of the extinction of the race, cause yer only going there just only one time.but if u fell bad to make them extinct, u can also get the cool stuffs (actually the difference of siding with the prince or not is only the gauntlents of crushing) if u side with the prince (except that you r a monk, i recommend you to side with the king to get the 'gauntlent of crushing'), because after killing the king, and the prince takes the kingdom, u can also get the wave shaft by pick pocketing on the prince.
