Because some of us have no choice but to be rude, but like I said, they count on us feeling bad.
Even outside when i'm walking my dogs they will see me and start homing in, extending their hand to be shaken but I always just say hi and walk by. They act all shocked and hurt but it's interesting to see how fast that wears off when they think you're gone and no longer watching. They just troop on to their next victim ready to deliver another oscar-winning performance if they are rebuffed.
