You may want to consider substituting the Vitamin C pills with multi-vitamin tablets once or twice a week.
If you're ill there's a chance you're not eating or drinking right, or enough, and if it's wintery in your area it may be difficult to get a good selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, too, which could exacerbate it. And if you are ill, you want to keep all parts of your body operating as best as it can.
Once or twice a week only will prevent you getting a harmful excess of any vitamins or minerals, seeing as how you're probably eating pretty close to right. I find that it's a useful precaution, at any rate.
