Well I now believe it is not a monitor, it went from flickering on screen to the blue screen of death, which says some hardware is in in infinate loop. Leaves blue screen of death to windows, than shuts system down and restarts to blue screen of death etc. Reason I no longer think it is the monitor is the blue screen of death looks fine. I don't know if reinstalling the video card will work but I may give it a try.
