It's you asswads that make it unpleasant. The reciept policy is quite universal to any store. This isn't anything new either. Live with it or don't come to my store and make my day miserable.
The point of the reciept policy is to prevent theft. Anyone could have just walked in, grabbed the product off the shelf and walked up to customer service with it pleading your case. So do you see why these asswads wouldn't take it now?
