Vote with your feet and patronise a news service that uses a cross-platform media format like real player. And send them a mail to complain.
Keeping sites Windows only is becoming especially stupid these days though, so I do agree. Not only is Firefox raising the bar with regards to standards compliance (forcing IE7 to be a lot better than IE6) which will in theory lead to standardised web design, but the rise of the Mac amongst savvy computer users means poorly designed sites are starting to risk losing serious customer base.
