Yeah, I know someone who was with an underage girl and went down for it. There was merely a two year difference in age but she fell below the legal age. The relationship was something they both pursued. I remember I would see them holding hands in public but thought they were both 18+ so never looked twice. Well, when the parents got wind of it they called the cops and he went down for statutory rape. Then his name was added to a list and people started talking about it.

He explained it to me and a friend one day, said it ruined his life and that his name was even posted in shop windows. The girl was hardly emotionally scarred since she still sees him now that she is past the age of consent. I believe him because she was right there when he was telling us, saying how she couldn't believe her parents did that! I hardly class that as a 'sexual crime' as we know it and yet he pays the price for it and she gets nothing. Another half of me says that he violated the law and that's that. I think that this is almost grey area.
