Arrows of detonating are brilliant when used under the right circumstances (ie. when you're on your own and surrounded by monsters) and I use them relatively frequently. I like acid arrows and fire/ice arrows too. Possibly the best ones are arrows of biting though - all you need is one such arrow and it is goodbye to any evil mage opposing you.
