Pretty much...I can't see anything else you can do.
I would recomend that you just charm him, as if you are doing Durlag's, you are nearing the end of the game anyway. Just do that until you complete and are ready to export!!
Or, you could drop him asap, and gain a new member for the remaining parts of the game!
