It's a reference to Titus Andronicus, Shakespeare's nastiest and most gruesome play (IMO). Titus's daughter is raped and mutilated by the sons of Tamora, Queen of the Goths. To retaliate, Titus slays the sons and bakes a pie of their remains, which he then presents to Tamora at a banquet, so that she unwittingly eats her own sons. *shudder*
