Well, if you really think about it, nothing goes well.
Someone is always getting injured or hurt. No one ever really has any comfortable life. All they do is win, then on to the next battle, with no real ending except the last page of every book, which doesn't count because it leaves a storyline open.
Besides, escapism is a great thing and these books do provide that
