Oh, I *know* how to work my way around it, that's not the problem.

I just don't know if removing the belt will cause problems later on when the game moves on from Tales to the Sword Coast to Baldurs Gate II, continuity-wise; what will happen if Imoen died in the Nashkell Mines? Will she just miraculously appear without explanation once it's BG2-time?

BG2 handles some things differntly, but this script isnt one of them. Maybe you just got unlucky.
