Neb you call yourself a FF fan, and you haven't played FF7? Let me tell you a *little* bit about it. *Cracks knuckles* FF7 is my favorite so far. The story was excellent. It was a somewhat typical good vs. evil, friend gone enemy storyline, but square gave it everything they had. It had to be good if I played through it nine times in a row. (Well it would've been ten, but I got Omnislash on the first disc like I wanted.)
The materia system ruled. You could do so much with it. It was something like the esper system in FF3. Weapons had slots, and you could fill those slots up with any materia you wanted. There were support materia too, so you could cast that spell up to four times in a row, or all enemies, or drain hp, and/or mp.
I think the Limit Break system first came about in seven, and that was really cool. First you started off with braver, and then worked your way up to the ultra powerful limits. Of course you wouldn't get those without a little bit of work. Try out every character and see who you like.
Well that's it I suppose. Oh and FFX comes in second place with me.
