it was back in the summer of '93 at portland meadows in portland oregon. the opening band blind melon. they got the 15000+ people worked into a dancing frenzy. the second band, my favorite at the time, was pearl jam. they played on awesome set that lasted a little over two hours, bringing out special guest victoria sweet to sing a duet with eddie vedder. the headliner was rock and roll all-time great, neil young. he played close to three hours, covering songs from his whole career. i remember wandering back to the car with my friends thinking that if i never saw another show, that that would be okay.
