I'm female and preggie and any underwear that comes up to my ribcage without being snug suits me just fine these days (sexy, huh?).
As for on other people.... depends on the body wearing them. Briefs don't go with paunches. Boxers hide many faults. On the other hand, if you've got the body for it, flaunt it (perhaps not in public, though). Oh.... and keep the underwear UNDER the pants. People who have their pants sagging four inches below their so-called underwear band look like toddlers with soaked diapers. Not sexy at all.
