Well, I HAVE had a go a few times. But you have to play a male character to get anyone interesting... and then they just seem to peter out... everyone forgets the whole thing. And If you play a female character, which I prefer, you get Awful Anomen as your romance and I always finished up telling him to shut up and go away.
I think I might like a romance element if it continued all through the game and they maybe finished up marrying... but, maybe not! To be honest, I found it all a bit irritating!
