Should toilet paper be threaded down the front, so it is away from the wall, or down the back, so it is next to the wall?

I don't mean what type of paper you use. I mean the ultimate fundamental question, the one that possibly may never be answered fully, the one that could start an intergalatic battle on a scale never seen before(assuming life in other galaxies uses toilet paper, and more than one intergalactic battle takes place)...

Should toilet paper be threaded down the front, so it is away from the wall, or down the back, so it is next to the wall?

Ok, if you've made a decision, you've gotta explain why! Otherwise how do we know you haven't just made it up?

If you haven't then go away and make one quick. Experiment if you have to, but there's no sitting on the fence for this I'm afraid.
