I've heard everything from re-format to buying all kinds of new hardware, but I have yet to hear many suggestions centered around actual troubleshooting????

It might help to start with some actual specifications of your computer.
Did you actually read all these posts?
There are numerous posts with suggestions which arent even close to buying new hardware or re-formatting.....
Also there have been inquiries about what hardware's been using and windows error logs.

Having said that, Im not sure what you actually expect from members helping other members out of goodwill on a non-professional level.

You might want to tell Luvian also what sort of specifications he should be posting?!
[/QUOTE]Windows XP should never have to be re-formated unless you do a massive hardware change, ie: motherboard.

Unless you know exactly what hardware is in a PC, I fail to see how you can intelligently diagnose a problem.

I think that members helping members is admirable, but make sure the advice is sound.
