It would be fun to bash him with the Improved Mace of Disruption, to show him the finer qualities of Illithium or whatever it is called.
If you have the Mace with you and you talked to the guy who runs the forge at the docks, does he say that if you had the ore he could improve the mace? I don't recall. If not, then its definately a "hidden" weapon.
