The sun itself is a tire's worst enemy...rubber decomposes naturally (I believe it slowly oxidizes, which is roughly equivalent to rusting) with the energy of the sun giving it a jumpstart. The tires will look fine, but structurally, they are unsound.
In my experience, old cars, even with low mileage, can have bad electronics...My stepfather found an old New Yorker a few years ago that really didn't have many miles on it, because it had belonged to an elderly man, but the computer system went bad rather quickly after my parents bought it.
