My mom's side is Cherokee, with the intervention of Scottish with my great great grandmother's husband. My dad's side of the family is German.
On my wife's side, they have traced back to the 1400's, finding a British upper-class lineage with at least one duke. Further along however, there was a family member accused of stealing from the royal court and fled to the America's, coming to Massachusetts and staying there until my wife's dad, being the first of his family to leave that state came to North Carolina.
