For guys, definitely - jeans that fall down to reveal undies is a terrible look. You don't see that many guys dressing like that these days though - only a specific type I think. It's not 'mainstream' fashion anyway
The recent jeans styles for chicks, however - very good. I will never ever wear a high-waisted pair of jeans (or any pants or skirt) again. Hipsters are so much more comfortable and they flatter every body type (unless you wear them too low and too tight with a short shirt and have an unflattering muffin-top, of course
).
I think the 'rule' is wear either conspicuous earrings or a necklace or a bracelet but not all at once. And apparently not a whole matching set because that's a bit 'nanna-ish'
