You can ALWAYS use sound recorder.

Sometimes, it's really lousy to use, especially if you want to create a .wav file over a minute in length. For that purpose, I have a ten-minute blank file somewhere on my HDD.

To use sound recorder, get a male-male 1/8" phono cable. Insert one end in your speaker/headphone output. Insert the other in your microphone/line-in input. Play the media and record.

My old computer, which was lightning fast at 667 MHz could pull this off, with only 196 MB of RAM.

Last I checked, a manufactured cable of that type costs about $7, US. To make one yourself, out of old headphones, you're looking at about $1 worth of supplies, but that might come out bad if you have no experience with splicing wires.

GOOD LUCK!
