Whatever the reason (popularity, sloppy coding, martian invasion) IE have worse security. For an end consumer like myself the actual reason for that matters very little. Now if IE was a better product - easier to use, smoother and faster page views and so on - I might consider using it in place of Firefox.
Why on earth would you even make a post that suggests uninstalling Firefox and replace it with IE? Have you used Firefox for any length of time?

While I have only worked with JavaScript as an amateur I have worked with it enough to say that coding anything to fit IE is about as much fun as dropping a bowling ball on your pinky toe. Just thinking about it hurts.
