Hmm. I had always thought that feminism was based on
countering the fiction that women are better suited to certain things (namely domestic tasks and child-rearing) than men, and the fiction that men are better suited to most other things (in particular voting, being educated, and working in anything other than menial jobs) than women.
Of course
true equality is impossible, as everyone has different skills, talents, and luck. But the strive for equality is for equal opportunity, where people are only discriminated against based on relevant attributes, not irrelevant attributes, and everyone who is able is given the opportunity to attain the relevant attributes.
