It was an afterthought, and unimportant (relative to the rest of the post) - just me being picky. Hence why I didn't think of it the first time around, and had to go back and edit my post to add it in.

One solution is to use separate user accounts on the computer - your Firefox settings (bookmarks, history, saved passwords, preferences, extensions, themes, and basically everything else) can be set up individually. The same happens with alot of your Windows settings, and also settings in some other apps. Unfortunately, though, you can't have different default browsers because MS decided that that is a system wide setting (although from what I understand, the architecture is in place for it to be per-user, and other programs that set your defaults for you can hook into that). If that isn't ideal for some reason, you can set up Firefox with different profiles on the same account, which will achieve the same (the information in that link is outdated, but the stuff about setting up a profile and using a certain profile still works the same, as long as you substitute 'firefox' for 'mozilla').

also, altho i seem to be the only person with this problem, firefox would re-direct my page as i started typing a comment on deviantart.com i would end up typing away to my user page, instead of the comment box on someone's peice of art.

Have you tried asking Mozillazine? They can usually answer most questions fairly quickly.
