Come any other time of the year and the sky is a huge blue void-ocean of cloudlessness and the earth is brittle, the pavement is hot, and the grass and trees are all brown.
Come during the summer and it's just as hot but the pavement's been cooled thanks to the moisture and everything is a lush shade of green.
