Do you mean "annoying" as in, "It's so annoying that my Thief can't cast Wizard spells while wearing Full Plate, all without breaking Stealth?"
Some rules were meant to be broken, yes--but some others are meant to stay just as they are. I have no problems whatsoever with disabling Malchor Harpell, but Magic Armor conflicting with Magic Rings/Cloaks/Amulets is just one of the classic rules of D&D. Diablo is a perfectly good game, but don't try to make BG follow Diablo rules.
("Oh, hey--you want me to make you Diamond Ring of the Zodiac? Is great recipie! Gives +60% Magic Resistance and +20 to all of your abilities! Oh wait--is Diablo item. Tee hee, silly Cespenar.")
