6 reasons Australia is not better than the USA :
1. Steve Irwin
2. Aussie men start way too many conversations in public toilets
3. Crocodile Dundee won 'Australian of the Year in 1985
4. Nearly all Aussie men named Robert, Rob, Bob or Priscilla
5. Vegemite originally distilled from Bubonic Plague
6. Steve Irwin

A note on the Aluminum/Aluminium debate:
The discoverer, Humphry Davy (of Cornwall, England), originally called it 'alumium' in 1807-8. Later he changed it to 'aluminum'.

Finally, because a bunch of poncy British chemists got upset that it didn't conform to the '-ium' ending established by sodium, calcium and strontium, he was convinced to change it to 'aluminium'.

So, if North Americans use the 'aluminum' form, it's just because we got sick of Davy changing it all the time.

(Technically speaking, the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry made the '-ium' form the official one in 1990, but nobody paid attention)
