I'm not even sure I should dignify this incredibly opinionated post with an answer, since I doubt that I'm going to change your mind, but I will anyway.

"Why don't you people go listen to something in which you'll really be discovering music in all of it's facets."

Please give me an example.

The music genres I enjoy listening to are:

Rap
RnB
Rock (all types, hard, soft punk, old school, even rock that hasn't been invented yet )
Electronica
Garage
Jazz
Dance
Country
and Blues.

Aside from Classical Music and Pop Music I don't believe I'm missing out on a great deal.

"A music discussion thread, and all they talk about is light music instead of artistic music."

One person's art is another's garbage.

"Rap and all that is so shallow compared to a LOT. Same goes for pop, soft rock, hard rock, RnB, punk, punkrock etc."

Please give me an example, since you basically nuked a large proportion of valid genres.

Calling rap, let alone any musical genre shallow is simply not a fair criticism unless you're very familiar with the genre in question. I assure you, for every rap song that places an emphasis on "ladies, blunts and cars" there is a song that conveys a real and significant message(e.g.the struggle of the youth today, problems in America and the world in general, the problems that we face everyday in life, etc). In fact, I believe that rap is the musical genre that discusses issues faced by ordinary people everyday the most. How could that be considered shallow?
