Did you set your Configuration for the game

Cache size set to 450.

frame rate set to 32.

set search nodes to 40,000.

game resolution need to be set to 800x600 if you game keeps crashing.

set color depth to 32bit.

check your hardware setting in BG config and make sure General,Graphics and sound are set to the proper setting sometimes the sound card may be to powerful for the game and this can cause it to crash also if you lower this setting it can stop the crashes.

try these settings above they help when your using the higher power Computers and windows XP can cause the game to crash for no reason also. I took my XP off all my computers and use 98SE and don't have any problem any more with any game. I own more than 250 PC Games including every RPG on the market or all made in the past 7 to 8 years.
