In the United States, it is generally organized along these lines.
Elementary School kindergarten (age 5)
grades 1-6
Junior High or grades 7-8
Middle School grades 7-9
High School grades 9 (or 10) through 12
(alternative)
High School grades 9-10
Senior High School grades 11-12
College (also called University)
2 year degree Associates
4 year degree Bachelors
Graduate School
Masters Degree (2 or 3 year program)
Doctorate Degree (2 year program after completion of Masters
Degree)
A medical Doctors degree is a 4 to 6 year program after completion of the Bachelors Degree
