Why have anything distinctive? Art, a big house, fine furnature. My wife too has no idea why I'd want to spend good money to improve the power and performance of my car... but she has no problem replacing our perfectly functional dining room table with an antique one.
It's all about what you like and what you want to spend your limited time and money on. If turning hot laps at Watkins Glen is your idea of fun (like it is for me) then you'll understand why I spent 3 grand on suspension mods and almost as much on brakes.
HPA seems to be a decent Canadian tuner, while I wouldn't put them in Calloway or Lingenfelter territory, they have some nice looking cars and have gotten some pretty positive press, which is great.
