First off, the LS2 is used in the GTO and the Vette - not the LS6.

(from GM Press Release) GTO – the original muscle car – was re-introduced last year and returns with more power and style for 2005. A new LS2 6.0L V-8 engine replaces the LS1 5.7L engine, bringing with it an increase in horsepower and torque.

Actually, his numbers are just fine.

1) Modern GM V8's are well known to get good highway mileage - the Northstar V8's in the cadillacs get close to 35 mpg. highway. Having said that, the GTO gets 25 mpg highway - not 29. However, VW owners should be disappointed that the vaunted german engineering with half the performance is only getting one mpg better highway.

2) 400hp is more than 230hp.

3) GTO: 0-60 in 5.8, 1/4 in 13.8 car and driver
VW R32: 0-60 in 6.5, 1/4 in 14.8 european car

4) The HPA is a tuner car, the lingenfelter is a tuner car, the Calloway is a tuner car. COMPARE APPLES TO APPLES. Stock to stock, or tuner to tuner.

NOTE: The Calloway modified corvette, even though it is a tuner car, is a FACTORY OPTION supported by the factory warranty.
