Bastard Sword

Lightning Damage each hit (1d3)

Cast Magic Missle (1 charge only)
This sword was originaly owned by 'Krix' a tracker with the Elven Hunters. He was presented the sword by Balinor the Captain of the Elven Guard after 15 years of service.
Krix was renowned for working alone, and even when working with a group he would keep his distance, often disapearing for days scouting the area ahead. Ballinor wanted to create something that would aid Krix whilst scouting. After the sword was forged Balinor had it placed in the charge of a Mage by the name of Kael.
Kael toiled for many days imbuing the sword with ancient elvish magic, after 6 days Kael went to Balinor and presented him with what he called "Contingency".
Kael explained that he had enchanted the sword with elemental spells, but this was not all....Kael also told Balinor why he had name the weapon "Contingency", in the most dire of situations the carrier could call upon the powers imbued in the sword to heal himself and also launch a magical assault at the enemy.
Balinor was pleased greatly, but as he thanked the Mage he was given a warning. Once the power of the sword was called forth, it could no longer be summoned again due to the nature of the enchantments placed on it. However the sword would retain its elemental properties and still could be used as a powerful weapon.
It is said that Krix was very pleased with the piece and it became his most prized possesion, but little it known of its use throughout history. What became of Krix and the other carriers of "Contingency"...and why was the power never summoned?
