Where to begin?
In Australia (State of NSW) we are currently going through our "Spring Carnival" which is lots of cool horse races for our customers to waste money on. When I say "our" customers, it is because I work for Australia's biggest gambling company.
Unfortunately, I was stupid enough to become a customer today
The big race today was at Moonee Valley. It was called the Carlton Cox Plate. I decided to put $10 on a horsie called Savabeel. But because of work limitations, I had to stay put while a coworker put the bet on for me.
Unfortunately, I am pretty retarded. As a result, I told my workmate the wrong horse number. Not only this, but said Co-worker put $20 on the horse, not $10.
Now, I dunno about what everyone else thinks, but I've heard that it is REALLY bad luck to change a bet once it has been placed. So I didn't change it, even though the option was there. You can all guess what happened.
Thats right... my original horse choice won. Not only that, but it paid like $10 for every dollar. I So wanted to cry.
Looking at it now (only about 2 hours past the horrible horrible event) I can't help but laugh. Instead of being over $120 richer, I'm $20 down. And all because I didn't trust my gut feeling. DAMN YOU! DAAAAAAMN!
Sorry, I know there isn't much point to this thread... I really just needed to share my pain. My GOD the pain.
