Charisma is actually the main prime request for a Sorcerer in AD&D, though this also does not effect your Sorcerer spellcasting abilitie's whatsoever in BG II.
The Sorcerer does not have a prime request in stats, not Intel, Wis, Con ect.
Making the Sorcerer even more cheesyer, because now they can put all the points that a wizard puts in Intel in something like Str or Con.
However, Wisdom is important for the Sorcerer if you are going to use the limited wish and wish spells, because wish based spells use Wisdom to determine the final outcome of the spell.
