Though sometimes the special abilities can be activated without using the weapon. There are f.e. 2 short swords ( I think Ilbratha and Arbane's sword )
who give, respectively Haste for 12 seconds when activated, and Mirror Image.
These are not permanent abilities, but things you can activate at any given time .. you wont need to use them to be able to select these abilities .. just have them somewhere in your weaponslots [img]smile.gif[/img]
