Annatar... one last suggestion:
Once you're done with your Katana, open it in IEEP and EXPORT it to a folder (i.e. 'Annatar's Items') using IEEP's export function.

AFAIK, if you only save it as an *.itm file, and you have to reinstall the game, you might find that your carefully written description (the history of the weapon) is gone. At least that's what happened to my own items...
