Okay, good point; but you have to agree with me that the use of dark magic should come with some penalties.

Quote:
Before he buried his family, he took of each family member two drops of blood; with a ritual of the darkest magic he stored their souls in those two drops of blood, knowing what he had to do. He stored there spirit, their essence in those drops of blood.
Corsion didn't care less about the repurcussions that could follow by using dark magic; he was aware of what could, and probaly should happen (his confrontation with Kerilioco).

I'll try to explain my penalties (I feel the same that some are rather drastic)

Stat penalties (-1 Dex, Intel, Con, Char)

When someone touches the blade, they feel the pain and havoc that the souls within the in the blade encounter; the cruelty and horror the men of Kerilioco inflicted upon them. They are restless spirits.. that are bound to this katana forever
Only people that can understand the blade, souls and the force of the katana... survive the touch of this might katana.

15 St & 14 Wis requirement

Strength: One must be physical able to wield the powerfull blade, it take's alot of energy to use a hightly enchanted weapon of this kind.

Wisdom: One must be strong physical, but without strength mentally.. the person will crumble due to the souls within the blade... constantly do they try to contact the wielder, seeking a way out of the blade; dominating the wielder.

Who lacks the wisdom to resist the souls, will be dominated by the minds of the tortured souls within the blade of the katana. Ending in death and despair, for that is the only thing those within the blade seek, revenge for there cruel faith.

18 or higher reputation

Lord Ao himself made it so that only those of pure heart can use the blade, knowing that someone will do good with the blade. If one fails the test of the deity.. the blade will be taken away from the wielder, and be given to another that is worthy enough to use it.

Ao knowned that if the sword get's in the wrong hands, chaos and havoc will occur; one of evil alignment will surely use such a powerfull blade to grant himself strength and immens power. Lord Ao used his godly powers to prevent something like that to happen.

Kensai only

pretty obvious, Kensais are known to be one with the sword, they are one of the few that really understand the blade and it's power.

I think I gave some rather good feedbacks about my penalties.. though I to find it rather to penalized (euhmm.. okay ).

Comments to un-power this sword, modify.. penalize are all welcome, take note that it should fit in the story I made up (so don't give it level draining bonusses ect. ) And I still seek someone to create this katana for me...
A challenge I think.
