As for the claiming if someone does not come around to the animal shelter within 7 days I doubt they are looking very hard unless the dog originated from another town or city and traveled a fair distance, or was abducted.

I've never seen them get tattoed on the underbelly before. Only seen it on the inside of the ear, 2 of my dogs have that because they are registered pure breds.
