I've often wondered what the highest level that could be reached is, since there is a limit to the experience that the game can offer. Once you get into the teens the gaps between levels are enormous(although perhaps the AI then just gives you more XP for your kills). If you solo or play with a small party of 2-4 you would get mopre XP of course. At times I have considered trying to solo through BG1/Tales/Dark Side and do everyting there is to be done in the game, just to see what level I would finish at. But that is more work than I care to do (I now find the 'lawnmowing' style of play where you clear every map tedious).
The first time I played DS and I took a group of paladins and completed everything outside of BG city. Unfortunately they got the sh*t level drained out of them, so I'll never know how high they would have gotten if they had cast the proper protective spells prior to fighting vampires. (I figured that if Team BG was going put level draining vampires into the game they would also include the restoration spell--but they did not!)
