My good Lady Wendy, after contemplating that picture through beers four and five, and misspelling the word nicti-something a half-dozen times while consuming beer #6, I'm just going to call it the third eyelid, cuz that's much easier to spell. Kitties have this cool membrane thingy that covers their eyes from side to side underneath their main up and down eyelids, and I dimly recall why it's there... nope, killed that brain cell with beer #7. Maybe for extra protection from sun and sand as they evolved as desert animals to begin with.
And I'm pretty convinced that that picture is real, as it blinked.
