My year ran out on my work PC, so I just ordered Norton 2004 Professional Edition. Well when I went to install it, it said it recognized a previous version of Norton (I had the 2003 on there still) and would I like to switch, I of course clicked YES, and it loaded. After the restart, I got error boxes, with links in said error boxes. Went to the links and it mostly told me that I did not get a successful install, and I needed to uninstall the previous version first, then re-install. Sigh.. So did it, then got the same fishing error box, this time with a different error number, but also a link with it. So I clicked on link. It said that the Windows Auto Update is the problem, you know, when you have it set on your PC so any Windows Critical Updates come along, it will automatically notify you.. Anyways, so I have to now uninstall, once again, the new Norton and also uninstall the Windows Update thingy. Blah! Much time later, after many restarts which took forever (old suck PC, crappa dial up at work too), I was able to start fresh and finally got the new Norton on there, and also re-installed the Windows Auto Update.

What a pain in the butt though! Just wanted to post this because maybe some of yall's registrations to Norton are almost up, and wanting you to know what types of problems you may run into upgrading the dang thing!
